Hoodia Appetite Suppressants

Hoodia Appetite Suppressant Products

Hoodia Gordonii is a succulent plant (that resembles a cactus) which grows in Southern Africa. For centuries Hoodia has been used to reduce hunger by the Bushmen while on extended long travels through the desert, or on hunting trips. Hoodia Gordonii has the molecule called p57 that helps appetite suppression.

If you are looking to buy Hoodia products online you should have these thing in mind (but don't let some of these facts discourage you from buying Hoodia):

Counterfeited Products

Hoodia is a very popular natural appetite suppressant sold in health food stores and on the Internet. It is sold in capsule, liquid, powder and tea form. However, there are widespread reports that many Hoodia products are not pure, diluted or counterfeited. This is because the supply is scarce. This is a plant that is difficult to grow and takes four to five years to mature.

Permits

The Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species - CITES - an international agreement to ensure that harvest and trade of wild plants and animals doesn't threaten their survival, imposed trade controls on Hoodia several years ago. In order to be legal, Hoodia must be grown and collected with a permit. Real Hoodia is grown in Africa, not China or Mexico.

Authenticity and Price

Hoodia Gordonii is on the list of endangered species which means it may become extinct in the near future. Therefore, it's not always easy to find 100% pure Hoodia. If a Hoodia product does not contain 100% pure Hoodia Gordonii extract, it probably useless for appetite suppression and for weight loss.

Because of its scarcity, authentic pure Hoodia is not cheap - so if you see a Hoodia product advertised for $10 per bottle, don't waste your money. There may be some good free trial offers, though.
